Municipal Civil Protection believes that after an explosion on Friday night, September 22 that caused structural damages to the home in Prados del Centenario should be demolished.
Insurance coverage was in place, and the insurer will cover the cost of removing the home from the neighborhood as well as repairing any damage.
As the State Attorney General’s Office is currently conducting investigations in order to find out what caused the incident, the demolition will start once they release the buildings.
In order to protect the local residents, the Municipal Civil Protection Unit and other departments will work together in order to make sure that all demolitions of houses damaged by fire or storm damage are done in compliance with regulations.
At least for now, the red-lined house and house in the back are both closed. A municipal patrol is still monitoring the area.
Two people sustained injuries during the incident. The 35-year old man is hospitalized with burns and his health status is not known.
Another elderly security guard who was working in the next-door house had a ceiling lamp fall onto his neck. He is no longer at risk.
